My wife and I served as evangelical, protestant missionaries in France for eleven and a half years, after which I became the pastor and director of a Christian school in a French-speaking evangelical church, L'Eglise Evangelique de Saint Jerome, in Quebec, Canada. After serving in Quebec for five years, we then moved to Greenville, South Carolina, where I became the pastor of the First Evangelical Church of Greenville. In 1995, we moved to Tallahassee, Florida, where I eventually assumed the management of the family business, and remained there until 2012, when our family moved to Meridian, Idaho. My wife and I have six children. These short devotionals are born out of the loss of one of these children in particular, with the hope and prayer that they will serve to encourage and inspire those who read them in their walk with Christ. God bless you all, and may we finish well the race set before us.

The Swords Of God

“…and out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword: and His countenance was as the sun shineth in His strength.” Revelation 1:16 Dear Ones: The Bible has a lot to say about swords, especially in the Old Testament, when one considers the battles that were fought between Israel and her enemies.  But there are…

God’s Victory, God’s Way

“And having spoiled principalities and powers, He made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.”  Colossians 2:15 Dear Ones: Paul has a great deal to say about the spiritual warfare we are in, specifically because it is the same warfare that Christ knew, and knows.  In the letter to the Ephesian believers,…

Victorious Prayer

The Justice And Judgment Of God

“For thou hast trusted in thy wickedness: thou hast said, ‘None seeth me,’” “…thou hast said in thine heart, ‘I am, and none else beside me.’” Isaiah 47:10 Dear Ones: The subject of the justice and judgment of God is a difficult one for man to grasp.  This is because man does not see what…

Equipped To Overcome

“Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” Ephesians 6:11 Dear Ones: In Paul’s second letter to the Corinthians, he writes on the subject of “our warfare.”  He speaks of the spiritual conflict we are engaged in, specifically that which  is not to…

Beauty From Heaven

“In that day shall the branch of the Lord be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and comely for them that are escaped of Israel.” Is. 4:2 Dear Ones: All through the Scriptures there is a remarkable contrast that is presented to men.  It is that of the holiness…

The Greater Reality

“If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.” Matthew 16:24 Dear Ones: The realities of heaven, with the inexpressible beauty and wonder of the One on the throne, and the Lamb, far eclipses the things of earth.  The Apostle Paul made the distinction between…

The Ear Of The Disciple

“…He (the Lord God) wakeneth morning by morning, He wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned.” Isaiah 50:4 Dear Ones: What is the first thing to look forward to in the morning?  Moses wrote in Psalm 90:14, “O satisfy us early with Thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.” …
