My wife and I served as evangelical, protestant missionaries in France for eleven and a half years, after which I became the pastor and director of a Christian school in a French-speaking evangelical church, L'Eglise Evangelique de Saint Jerome, in Quebec, Canada. After serving in Quebec for five years, we then moved to Greenville, South Carolina, where I became the pastor of the First Evangelical Church of Greenville. In 1995, we moved to Tallahassee, Florida, where I eventually assumed the management of the family business, and remained there until 2012, when our family moved to Meridian, Idaho. My wife and I have six children. These short devotionals are born out of the loss of one of these children in particular, with the hope and prayer that they will serve to encourage and inspire those who read them in their walk with Christ. God bless you all, and may we finish well the race set before us.

Proof Of Heavenly Citizenship

“Therefore, whosoever heareth these sayings of Mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock…” Matthew 7:24 Perhaps the greatest sermon that has ever been preached was that of the Lord Jesus which is called the “Sermon On The Mount.”  If there is one theme…

The Significance Of The Shore

“But when morning was now come, Jesus stood on the shore: but the disciples knew not that it was Jesus.” John 21:4 If one would do a word study on the subject of the “shore,” referring to that of the sea, one would discover that it would be filled with life-changing meaning.  Perhaps the first…

The Singular Point Of Reference

“From the end of the earth will I cry unto Thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.” Psalm 61:2 One of the reasons for which the Apostle Paul speaks of the “last days” being “perilous times,” (2 Timothy 3:1) is the flood of confusion, and deceit…

The Stand Of Faith 3

“Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you…,” “There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life.” Joshua 1:3,5 There were two great events, two interventions of God, in the deliverance of Israel from Egypt, and her entrance…

The Stand Of Faith 2

“Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth…” Ephesians 6:13,14 In our former consideration of the Stand of Faith, we basically dealt with a “port of entry,” or…

The Stand Of Faith

“But he stood in the midst of the ground, and defended it, and slew the Philistines: and the Lord wrought a great victory.” 2 Samuel 23:12 What does it mean to take a stand of faith?  What did it mean for Shammah, one of David’s mighty men, when the people fled before the Philistines?  It…

I Will Abide In You

“I am the vine, ye are the branches.  He that abideth in Me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without Me ye can do nothing.” John 15:5 It was David Livingston who penned the following words:  “I only have one life, And that will soon be past; I want my…

Comparisons Of Glory

“Consider the lillies of the field how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.” Matthew 6:28 It is in the contrast of things presented to us by the Lord Jesus that we are…

Revelation And Redeeming The Time

“So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom,” “Let Thy work appear unto Thy servants, and Thy glory unto their children.” Psalm 90:12,16 In the writings of Paul, we find that God gave him a remarkable revelation of Himself, first on the road to Damascus at his conversion,…

Where Justice And Mercy Meet

“And thou shalt go to thy fathers in peace; thou shalt be buried in a good old age.  But in the forth generation they shall come hither again, for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full.” Genesis 15:15,16 All through the Scriptures sinful man is brought face to face with a perfectly righteous…
