My wife and I served as evangelical, protestant missionaries in France for eleven and a half years, after which I became the pastor and director of a Christian school in a French-speaking evangelical church, L'Eglise Evangelique de Saint Jerome, in Quebec, Canada. After serving in Quebec for five years, we then moved to Greenville, South Carolina, where I became the pastor of the First Evangelical Church of Greenville. In 1995, we moved to Tallahassee, Florida, where I eventually assumed the management of the family business, and remained there until 2012, when our family moved to Meridian, Idaho. My wife and I have six children. These short devotionals are born out of the loss of one of these children in particular, with the hope and prayer that they will serve to encourage and inspire those who read them in their walk with Christ. God bless you all, and may we finish well the race set before us.

Christ In You

“But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb, and called me by His grace, to reveal His Son in me, that I might preach Him among the heathen…” Galatians 1:15,16 It is one thing to profess faith in Christ.  It is quite another to take Him at His word, believing that…

God’s Rod Of Authority

“And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse…and He shall smite the earth with the rod of His mouth, and with the breath of His lips shall He slay the wicked.” Isaiah 11:4 It was to Moses that the Lord addessed the question, “What is that in thine hand?” The…

Overcoming Spiritual Opposition

“And he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him.” Zechariah 3:1 The Christian, or believer, often fails to take into account that he is in a spiritual battle, one where there is opposition to doing the will of God. …

Hope’s Anchor Of The Soul

“…the hope set before us: which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil.” Hebrews 6:18,19 There is a great hymn, written by P.J. Owens, the refrain of which goes like this: “We have an anchor that keeps the soul, Stedfast and…

The Essential Of Power

“Ask ye of the Lord rain in the time of the latter rain; so the Lord shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field.” Zechariah 10:1 All through the Scriptures, and from the begining of time, especially since the Fall of Man, there is the constant…

No Good Thing Withheld

“For the Lord God is a sun and shleld: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly.” Psalm 84:11 In this day when there are wars and rumors of wars, and nation rises against nation, there is a truth that transcends all that we see,…

The New Chapter

“… ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshly tables of the heart.” 2 Corinthians 3:3 If every believer is an epistle, or letter, written by God, then what constitutes…

The Eternal Work At Hand

“I must work the works of Him that sent Me while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.” John 9:4 If ever there was an individual who was focused on his work, mission, and objective, it was the Lord Jesus. From the moment He stood up in the synagogue in Nazareth,…

Hoping In The Mercy Of God

“…who knoweth if He will return and repent, and leave a blessing behind Him?” Joel 2:13 We have only to look at Psalm 107 to discover how man can so easily find himself in very difficult circumstances, and states of mind, where there is no other place to look but up to God, and appeal…
