My wife and I served as evangelical, protestant missionaries in France for eleven and a half years, after which I became the pastor and director of a Christian school in a French-speaking evangelical church, L'Eglise Evangelique de Saint Jerome, in Quebec, Canada. After serving in Quebec for five years, we then moved to Greenville, South Carolina, where I became the pastor of the First Evangelical Church of Greenville. In 1995, we moved to Tallahassee, Florida, where I eventually assumed the management of the family business, and remained there until 2012, when our family moved to Meridian, Idaho. My wife and I have six children. These short devotionals are born out of the loss of one of these children in particular, with the hope and prayer that they will serve to encourage and inspire those who read them in their walk with Christ. God bless you all, and may we finish well the race set before us.

The Miracle Of Preaching

“…for it shall be given you in that same hour what you shall speak.” Matthew 10:19 Dear Ones: We are apt to limit, or explain, the working of the Spirit of God by what we can “see” and “understand.”  This is a grave error.  When the Apostle John speaks of the new birth, and how…

Help Of The Helpless

“This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.” Psalm 34:6 Dear Ones: Man is born with a “thought” in his heart that is centered upon himself.  That thought tells him that he is his own creator and lord of his destiny.  In some respects this is…

“…Yet Trouble Came.”

“My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various temptations (trials).”  James 1:2 Dear Ones: The perspective of the Christian, or true believer in Christ, is so very different than that of the unbeliever when various “trials,” difficulties or suffering comes.  In the case of Job, it seems that he had done everything…

My Father’s Business

“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord has anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek.”  Isaiah 61:1 Dear Ones: When the Lord Jesus was twelve years old, His parents took Him with them to Jerusalem for the feast of the Passover.  Upon embarking upon the return voyage, His…

The Spirit Without Measure

“For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God: for God gives not the Spirit by measure unto Him.” John 3:34 Dear Ones: In the book of Isaiah, a very important question is asked:  “Who has measured the waters in the hollow of His hand, and meted out (measured) heaven with the span,…

Walking With God

“And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.” Genesis 5:24 Dear Ones: It was in the days of Noah, when “…God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually,” (Gen. 6:5) that we…
