My wife and I served as evangelical, protestant missionaries in France for eleven and a half years, after which I became the pastor and director of a Christian school in a French-speaking evangelical church, L'Eglise Evangelique de Saint Jerome, in Quebec, Canada. After serving in Quebec for five years, we then moved to Greenville, South Carolina, where I became the pastor of the First Evangelical Church of Greenville. In 1995, we moved to Tallahassee, Florida, where I eventually assumed the management of the family business, and remained there until 2012, when our family moved to Meridian, Idaho. My wife and I have six children. These short devotionals are born out of the loss of one of these children in particular, with the hope and prayer that they will serve to encourage and inspire those who read them in their walk with Christ. God bless you all, and may we finish well the race set before us.

The Sovereign Intervention Of God

“And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends…” Job 42:10 Dear Ones: Jesus, when speaking to Nicodemus, spoke of being born of the Spirit.  He used the illustration of the wind, which one could not see, but which would have a definite effect on that which it blew.  Jesus…

The Primacy Of His Presence

“And Cain went out from the presence of the Lord.” Genesis 4:16 Dear Ones: It is one thing to know that God is present everywhere; it is quite another to know that His presence is a reality to us, and is for us.    In the story of Cain, scripture tells us that he had…

To All The World

Audience With The Father

“…Pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which sees in secret shall reward thee openly.” Matthew 6:6 Dear Ones: It was Jesus’ address to Philip, which reveals to us how little we know God, specifically our Father.  When Philip asked Jesus, “…Show us the Father,” (Jn. 14:8) he did not realize…

The Imminent Power Of The Gospel

“Thus says the Lord, ‘In an acceptable time have I heard thee, and in a day of salvation have I helped thee.’” Isaiah 49:8 Dear Ones: The Lord Jesus distinguished Himself among men in many ways.  One of these was by the exercise of perfect faith.  He lived, without “gaps” or “pauses” in faith, always…

Teach Me Thy Way, O Lord

“Now therefore, I pray Thee, if I have found grace in Thy sight, show me now Thy way, that I may know Thee.” Exodus 33:13 Dear Ones: It has been said that, ” The Christian life, reduced to fellowship with Christ, makes the complicated simple.”  This in great part is true.  What then are the…

Justice For The Nations

“He shall not fail, nor be discouraged, till He have set judgment (justice) in the earth: and the isles shall wait for His law.”  Isaiah 42:4 Dear Ones: In the “Lord’s Prayer,” after the reverential beginning in worship of the Father, the Lord Jesus instructs us to pray:  “Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done.” …

A Rock, A Sling, Bread And Fish

“For who has despised the day of small things?” Zechariah 4:10 Dear Ones: Perhaps one of the greatest obstacles to faith, and believing God for the wonderful thing, is the assessment of our very small, and limited resources.  We are apt to look within, and around us, take stock of the meagerness of human possibility,…
