My wife and I served as evangelical, protestant missionaries in France for eleven and a half years, after which I became the pastor and director of a Christian school in a French-speaking evangelical church, L'Eglise Evangelique de Saint Jerome, in Quebec, Canada. After serving in Quebec for five years, we then moved to Greenville, South Carolina, where I became the pastor of the First Evangelical Church of Greenville. In 1995, we moved to Tallahassee, Florida, where I eventually assumed the management of the family business, and remained there until 2012, when our family moved to Meridian, Idaho. My wife and I have six children. These short devotionals are born out of the loss of one of these children in particular, with the hope and prayer that they will serve to encourage and inspire those who read them in their walk with Christ. God bless you all, and may we finish well the race set before us.

The Divine Story

“He came to His own, and His own received Him not. But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God.” John 1:11,12 It was S. Crossman who wrote a wonderful hymn entitled “My Song Is Love Unknown.”  He concludes that hymn in the last stanza: “Here might…

The Cry Of The Heart

“This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.” Psalm 34:6 Scripture tells us that David was a man after God’s own heart.  He was a man who sought and found God.  What characterized David’s seeking of the eternal God, and His intervention in his life and…

A Vessel Unto Honor

“Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing; go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the Lord.” Isaiah 52:11 If God is our Creator, and He is, and if Christ is our Redeemer, and He is, what are we to be…

Christ The Lover Of Our Souls

“All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all.” Isaiah 53:6 Many have been the believers when they came to death’s door, realized afresh, counted upon, and cherished, the simple, yet profound truth and reality, that God…

It’s All About Authority

The Greatness of Christ’s Salvation

“Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you perfect in every good work to do His will…” Hebrews 13:21 How great and far reaching is this salvation which Christ has won for mankind on…

Ye Have Not Because Ye Ask Not

“Said I not unto thee, that if thou wouldest believe thou shouldest see the glory of God?” John 11:40 One of the most important parts of the ministry of the Lord Jesus was to bring men and women to faith in Him.  His method of doing this varied with different individuals in different circumstances, with…

The God Of Restoration And Renewal

“And I will restore to you the years that the locust have eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm, My great army which I sent among you.” Joel 2:25 There is no doubt that God is a just God, and that He will reveal that justice in His dealing with sin, in particular…
