My wife and I served as evangelical, protestant missionaries in France for eleven and a half years, after which I became the pastor and director of a Christian school in a French-speaking evangelical church, L'Eglise Evangelique de Saint Jerome, in Quebec, Canada. After serving in Quebec for five years, we then moved to Greenville, South Carolina, where I became the pastor of the First Evangelical Church of Greenville. In 1995, we moved to Tallahassee, Florida, where I eventually assumed the management of the family business, and remained there until 2012, when our family moved to Meridian, Idaho. My wife and I have six children. These short devotionals are born out of the loss of one of these children in particular, with the hope and prayer that they will serve to encourage and inspire those who read them in their walk with Christ. God bless you all, and may we finish well the race set before us.

Custodians Of The Day

“Give us this day our daily bread.”  Matthew 6:11 Dear Ones: How important is a day, and how is it’s worth measured in the eyes of God?  First of all, we see that God created it.  “And God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night.” (Gen. 1:4)  We also discover in Scripture,…

What Now?

The Portion, The Power, The Privilege

The Greatest Race

“I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air.” 1 Corinthians 9:26 Dear Ones: The Apostle Paul writes a good deal about a race, and how to run it.  He defines it as an effort, discipline, and engagement that is not only wholehearted, but where every faculty…

The Power Of The New Beginning

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature (creation): old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17 Dear Ones: True “newness,” from heaven’s standpoint, can only be explained by determining WHERE one is living. When the Israelites passed through the Red Sea, and the Jordan,…

Perpetual Patterns Of Faith

“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which does so easily beset us…” Hebrews 12:1 Dear Ones: What is a witness?  He is not a person who just says what he knows or thinks.  The witness of God is…

Power To Live

“‘You are My witnesses,’ says the Lord, ‘and My servant whom I have chosen:  that you may know and believe Me, and understand that I am He.’” Isaiah 43:10 Dear Ones: When the Lord confronted Nicodemus about the necessity of being born again, He made it very clear that the power to BE born again…
