My wife and I served as evangelical, protestant missionaries in France for eleven and a half years, after which I became the pastor and director of a Christian school in a French-speaking evangelical church, L'Eglise Evangelique de Saint Jerome, in Quebec, Canada. After serving in Quebec for five years, we then moved to Greenville, South Carolina, where I became the pastor of the First Evangelical Church of Greenville. In 1995, we moved to Tallahassee, Florida, where I eventually assumed the management of the family business, and remained there until 2012, when our family moved to Meridian, Idaho. My wife and I have six children. These short devotionals are born out of the loss of one of these children in particular, with the hope and prayer that they will serve to encourage and inspire those who read them in their walk with Christ. God bless you all, and may we finish well the race set before us.

“Now the end of the commandment is love out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned.” 1 Timothy 1:5 Dear Ones: When Paul wrote his two letters to Timothy, he did so in view of his soon departure to go and be with Christ. He is writing to his…
“…and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not love, I am nothing.” 1 Corinthians 13:2 Dear Ones: The thoughts of God as opposed to those of man, on whatever subject that could be considered, are as vast as the heavens are above the earth. Not only could we…
“For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness shall reign by one, Jesus Christ.” Romans 5:17 Dear Ones: It is very unusual in Scripture to find the phrase, “…much more,” mentioned five times in one chapter. It is true that…
“And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire, a still small voice.” 1 Kings 19:12 Dear Ones: In God’s dealings with us, He knows exactly how to get our attention, and how to speak to us. There are times when the Lord uses wind, earthquakes,…
“And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon (Satan); and the dragon fought against his angels, and prevailed not…” Revelation 12:7 Dear Ones: If ever there was a verse of Scripture that reveals to us the “aggressive posture of faith,” it is this one which depicts “war in heaven”…
“His word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not refrain.” Jeremiah 20:9 Dear Ones: When Moses approached the burning bush in the wilderness, he was intrigued by the fact that though it burned, it was not consumed. In other…
“Upon the four and twentieth day of the eleventh month, which is the month Sebat, in the second year of Darius, came the word of the Lord to Zechariah.” Zechariah 1:7 Dear Ones: The content of the “word of the Lord” is so very important, not only because it is spoken in perfect wisdom, justice,…
“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee, because he trusts in Thee.” Isaiah 26:3 Dear Ones: When the Scriptures speak of the peace of God, they take us to another realm, one where God is the very essence of that peace, and the only giver of it. Jesus made…
“…and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it.” Genesis 28:12 Dear Ones: It is very amazing that God would give to Jacob, who lied to his father, and stole his brother’s birthright, such wonderful revelations…
