My wife and I served as evangelical, protestant missionaries in France for eleven and a half years, after which I became the pastor and director of a Christian school in a French-speaking evangelical church, L'Eglise Evangelique de Saint Jerome, in Quebec, Canada. After serving in Quebec for five years, we then moved to Greenville, South Carolina, where I became the pastor of the First Evangelical Church of Greenville. In 1995, we moved to Tallahassee, Florida, where I eventually assumed the management of the family business, and remained there until 2012, when our family moved to Meridian, Idaho. My wife and I have six children. These short devotionals are born out of the loss of one of these children in particular, with the hope and prayer that they will serve to encourage and inspire those who read them in their walk with Christ. God bless you all, and may we finish well the race set before us.

Hope, The Certain Gift Of God

“Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts.” Ezekiel 37:11 Dear Ones: Biblical “hope” has very little, or nothing, to do with the “hope” of this world.  In its essence, it is an anticipation of the intervention of God, and the certainty of Him fulfilling what He…

Honor To Whom Honor Is Due

“Blessing, and honor, and glory, and power, be unto Him that sits on the throne, and unto the Lamb, for ever and ever.” Revelation 5:13 Dear Ones: In the book of Deuteronomy, Moses wrote concerning honor, that it is to be applied to the most fundamental relationship in the family, the honor that children are…

Fresh Bread From Heaven

“…Give us this day our daily bread.” Matthew 6:11 Dear Ones: We are apt to think that God’s closeness, and our awareness of His presence and power, is primarily revealed by great interventions in our circumstances, or in those of others.  But in reality, when we consider that our greatest calling is to fellowship with…

A Revelation While Fishing

“This is now the third time that Jesus shewed Himself to His disciples, after that He was risen from the dead.” John 21:14 Dear Ones: It is hard for us to put ourselves into someone else’s shoes by simply reading about their experiences, but let us try.  Scripture tells us that for a span of…

The Blessing Of Restoration

“…He restores my soul.” Psalm 23:3 Dear Ones: One of the great benefits of knowing Christ is the promise, and provision, to be restored by Him in our souls.  What does this mean?  Scripture is very clear in presenting to us that, though we are saved by a perfect Savior, and this salvation is a…

The Eternal Invitation

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord, shall be saved.” Romans 10:13 Dear Ones: We are apt to think that the miracles, or miraculous interventions of God, are limited to the creation of the world, and the great occurrences upon this earth.  But the miracle that is the most personal, and individual,…

A Vision Maintained

“I saw the Lord sitting on His throne, and all the host of heaven standing by Him on His right and on His left.” 1 Kings 22:19 Dear Ones: When Micaiah the prophet uttered these words, he was not in the company of friends, howbeit Jehoshaphat was apparently sympathetic towards him.  He is in the…

It Is Finished

“And ye are complete in Him, which is the head of all principality and power.” Colossians 2:10 Dear Ones: It was a terrible moment when Jesus died on the cross, having fulfilled the will of the Father by bearing not only the sins of all mankind, but also the just punishment for them.  In a…

The Song Of Christ

“Where were you…when the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?” Job 38:7 Dear Ones: Have you ever thought about the origin of singing, of what it means?  The Bible is full of singing, especially in regard to God, the blessing of God, and the truths and life of…
