My wife and I served as evangelical, protestant missionaries in France for eleven and a half years, after which I became the pastor and director of a Christian school in a French-speaking evangelical church, L'Eglise Evangelique de Saint Jerome, in Quebec, Canada. After serving in Quebec for five years, we then moved to Greenville, South Carolina, where I became the pastor of the First Evangelical Church of Greenville. In 1995, we moved to Tallahassee, Florida, where I eventually assumed the management of the family business, and remained there until 2012, when our family moved to Meridian, Idaho. My wife and I have six children. These short devotionals are born out of the loss of one of these children in particular, with the hope and prayer that they will serve to encourage and inspire those who read them in their walk with Christ. God bless you all, and may we finish well the race set before us.

“Come Up Here”

“Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne set in heaven, and the One sat on the throne.”  Revelation 4:2 Dear Ones: With reference to that which is eternal, seen by faith, it is of far greater significance and power than that which see in the natural world.  John the Apostle was an…

The One Thing Needful

“Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love.” Revelations 2:4 Dear Ones: What is the most important aspect of our relationship with God?  Is it service?  In the book of the Revelation, the Lord Jesus had John send to the church of Ephesus a letter.  In that letter, the Lord…

The Audacity Of Man

The New Beginning Of God

“Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.”  Isaiah 42:9 Dear Ones: Someone has said that the Christian life is a “…series of multiplied new beginnings.”  How can this be, and how does one experience the reality of this? In…

Beginning With The Beginning

“‘I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending,’ saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.”  Revelation 1:8 Dear Ones: If there is one thing that the entirety of Scripture does, it is to elevate our thoughts and concepts of God.  Indeed, our faith, its strength…

Thirsting After God

“Hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise Him for the help of His countenance.”  Psalm 42:5 Dear Ones: Thirsting after God is a wonderful thing.  Why?  First of all, it is a thirst that is given BY God to reveal our need of Him.  And secondly, it is the call of God to…
