My wife and I served as evangelical, protestant missionaries in France for eleven and a half years, after which I became the pastor and director of a Christian school in a French-speaking evangelical church, L'Eglise Evangelique de Saint Jerome, in Quebec, Canada. After serving in Quebec for five years, we then moved to Greenville, South Carolina, where I became the pastor of the First Evangelical Church of Greenville. In 1995, we moved to Tallahassee, Florida, where I eventually assumed the management of the family business, and remained there until 2012, when our family moved to Meridian, Idaho. My wife and I have six children. These short devotionals are born out of the loss of one of these children in particular, with the hope and prayer that they will serve to encourage and inspire those who read them in their walk with Christ. God bless you all, and may we finish well the race set before us.

The Transforming Vision

“And I heard behind me a loud voice, as of a trumpet, saying, ‘I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last.’” Revelation 1;10,11 Dear Ones: Sometimes it only takes one glance at some object, or person, to change a life forever.  We do not know how much, or how long, or…

The Conqueror Without And Within

“I will not leave you comfortless; I will come to you.” John 14:18 Dear Ones: Scripture tells us that God “…raised Christ from the dead, and set Him at His own right hand in the heavenly places.” (Eph. 1:20)  Paul goes on to say that He is above all “principality and power, might and dominion,”…

Here Am I, Send Me

“…and Elijah passed by him, and cast his mantle upon him.” 1 Kings 19:19 Dear Ones: The calling of God is just that…the call of God to an individual.  It is personal, immeasurably important, and all-encompassing.  God had spoken to Elijah to “…anoint (Elisha) to be prophet in your place.” (1 Kings 19:16)  The day…

Transformed By Beholding

He Leads Me

“Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.” John 8:68 Dear Ones: The words of the Apostle Peter mentioned above, underline the importance of being led by God, as in His economy, everything pertains to, and is in the perspective of that which is eternal.  Not only does the matter…

The Indestructible Life

“And whosoever lives and believes in Me shall never die.  Do you believe this?” John 11:26 Dear Ones: In one of the most profound, and yet, simplest statements uttered by the lips of Christ, was the declaration:  “This is eternal life, that they might KNOW Thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You…

“Your Brother Shall Rise Again”

“And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, to the intent you may believe.”  John 11:15 Dear Ones: Who can fathom the ways of God?  It is a true saying, “When we cannot trace His hand, we can trust His heart.”  How else can one explain the Lord’s dealings with this…

Infinite Goodness

“And God saw every thing that He had made, and, behold, it was very good.” Genesis 1:31 Dear Ones: One of the greatest arguments that the unbeliever will use to not believe in God, is to say, “If God exists, why then all of this suffering on the earth?”  The problem with this argument is…
