My wife and I served as evangelical, protestant missionaries in France for eleven and a half years, after which I became the pastor and director of a Christian school in a French-speaking evangelical church, L'Eglise Evangelique de Saint Jerome, in Quebec, Canada. After serving in Quebec for five years, we then moved to Greenville, South Carolina, where I became the pastor of the First Evangelical Church of Greenville. In 1995, we moved to Tallahassee, Florida, where I eventually assumed the management of the family business, and remained there until 2012, when our family moved to Meridian, Idaho. My wife and I have six children. These short devotionals are born out of the loss of one of these children in particular, with the hope and prayer that they will serve to encourage and inspire those who read them in their walk with Christ. God bless you all, and may we finish well the race set before us.

Why Did You Doubt?

“O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” Matthew 14:31 Dear Ones: The Christian sees the invisible by the eyes of his heart.  In the book of Hebrews, we find written of Moses:  “…for he endured, as seeing Him who is invisible.” (11:27)  This he did by faith.  Practically speaking, how did he do…

“For he (Abraham) looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.” Hebrews 1:10 Dear Ones: The life of faith is a VERY interesting and challenging one.  It actually begins before the birth of mankind, even before the world began.  How so?  It was born in the heart of God, not…

The Abundance Of Rain

And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain.” 1 Kings 18:41 Dear Ones: There are several short phrases in Scripture which communicate to us the idea of fullness or abundance.  For example, “…You greatly enrich it (the earth) with the river of God…

The Cross And The Power Of God

“For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness, but unto us which are saved, it is the power of God.” 1 Corinthians1:18 Dear Ones: One of the central themes of the gospel is the teaching concerning POWER.  It is more than a concept and a truth.  It is the very expression…

Praying For Rain

“Ask ye of the Lord rain in the time of the latter rain; so the Lord shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field.” Zechariah 10:1 Dear Ones: There are times when we are to call upon God for rain.  This “rain” can be both physical…

The Power Of Truth

“Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth?” Job 38:4 Dear Ones: Why in the Christian faith is so much attention given to the reading and study of the Bible?  It is because there is power in the truth, power to truly LIVE.  In the pages of Scripture is found the eternal…

The Vision And The Victory

“…In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us.” Romans 8:37 Dear Ones: As long as we are on this earth, we will be faced with challenges, difficulties, enemies and opposition.  The context in which we live is one where unbelief blinds the eyes of the heart, and God is…
