My wife and I served as evangelical, protestant missionaries in France for eleven and a half years, after which I became the pastor and director of a Christian school in a French-speaking evangelical church, L'Eglise Evangelique de Saint Jerome, in Quebec, Canada. After serving in Quebec for five years, we then moved to Greenville, South Carolina, where I became the pastor of the First Evangelical Church of Greenville. In 1995, we moved to Tallahassee, Florida, where I eventually assumed the management of the family business, and remained there until 2012, when our family moved to Meridian, Idaho. My wife and I have six children. These short devotionals are born out of the loss of one of these children in particular, with the hope and prayer that they will serve to encourage and inspire those who read them in their walk with Christ. God bless you all, and may we finish well the race set before us.

“…what is that to thee? YOU FOLLOW ME.” John 21:22 Dear Ones: The call of Christ of the individual is one that is associated with one’s own name. “…He calls His own sheep BY NAME, and leads them out.” (Jn. 10:3) It is a calling that is not only individual, but specific in its demands: …
“Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a name above every name.” Philippians 2:9 Dear Ones: Ascribing worth to someone or something is an act of attributing value. “But when it pleased God, …to reveal His Son in me.” Galatians 1:15,16 Dear Ones: There were two things that radically changed the life of the Apostle Paul. “Faithful is He that calls you who also will do it.” 1 Thessalonians 5:24 Dear Ones: A promise is a verbal, or written commitment, to do or accomplish something in the present moment, or in the future. “By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.” Hebrews 11:8 Dear Ones: What brings a man to commit himself and all that he has, to something or someone, whom he has not…
“For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call to Himself.” Acts 2:39 Dear Ones: The Bible has a great deal to say about promises. At the very outset of considering this matter, we must make the…
“He leads me beside the still waters…” Psalm 23.2 Dear Ones: “Stillness” is something that is usually not engaged in, or it is feared. In western culture, we are tempted to “do, do, do,” when the Bible tells us that there are times when we are to be still and wait. Let us be clear…
“…Be not afraid, neither dismayed: for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 Dear Ones: Life is filled with distractions, and some of them can be very serious ones. In speaking of the Lord’s second coming, and the “end of the world,” the Lord Jesus said: “And you will hear…
