My wife and I served as evangelical, protestant missionaries in France for eleven and a half years, after which I became the pastor and director of a Christian school in a French-speaking evangelical church, L'Eglise Evangelique de Saint Jerome, in Quebec, Canada. After serving in Quebec for five years, we then moved to Greenville, South Carolina, where I became the pastor of the First Evangelical Church of Greenville. In 1995, we moved to Tallahassee, Florida, where I eventually assumed the management of the family business, and remained there until 2012, when our family moved to Meridian, Idaho. My wife and I have six children. These short devotionals are born out of the loss of one of these children in particular, with the hope and prayer that they will serve to encourage and inspire those who read them in their walk with Christ. God bless you all, and may we finish well the race set before us.

“Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine, for the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine.” 2 Timothy 4:2,3 From a historical standpoint, there does not appear to be a great deal taught before Pentecost concerning the church, the living body…
“Fear not; I am the first and the last: I am He that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.” Revelation 1:18 It has been well, and simply said that we should never “…put God in a box.” What does this…
“But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19 The salvation to which the believer in Christ has been called is both great and full. It is not a partial salvation, though the manifestation of its perfect fulness in and through us will only be…
“…But this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:13,14 When seeking God in the Scriptures, it is essential to learn the truths of God…
“Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity, for they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.” Psalm 37:1 When Christ began His ministry the day of His baptism by John the Baptist, at the Jordan River, He entered into a…
“And they said one to another, ‘Did not our heart burn within us while He talked to us by the way, and while He opened to us the Scriptures?” Luke 24:32 When Christ speaks to us, He always does so by the Holy Spirit, as the hymnwriter put it, “…in accents clear and still.” He…
