My wife and I served as evangelical, protestant missionaries in France for eleven and a half years, after which I became the pastor and director of a Christian school in a French-speaking evangelical church, L'Eglise Evangelique de Saint Jerome, in Quebec, Canada. After serving in Quebec for five years, we then moved to Greenville, South Carolina, where I became the pastor of the First Evangelical Church of Greenville. In 1995, we moved to Tallahassee, Florida, where I eventually assumed the management of the family business, and remained there until 2012, when our family moved to Meridian, Idaho. My wife and I have six children. These short devotionals are born out of the loss of one of these children in particular, with the hope and prayer that they will serve to encourage and inspire those who read them in their walk with Christ. God bless you all, and may we finish well the race set before us.

“In the beginning God…’I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending.’” Genesis 1:1, Revelation 1:8 There is no way that a book can be written about God, and man’s relationship to God, that would do justice to the subject, without starting from the beginning, or rather with the One who IS the Beginning. …

“When I consider Thy heavens, the work of Thy fingers…what is man that Thou art mindful of him?” Psalm 8:3,4 In the book of Revelation, when we see in heaven God the Father exalted, seated upon His throne, being worshipped for His worthiness, specifically displayed in the perfection of the creation that He has made,…
“Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth…” John 16:13 The bedrock of faith in God is the truth OF God. In answer to the question, “What is truth,” the Lord gives us a very clear response. In Jesus’ high priestly prayer, He prayed: “Sanctify them through…
“For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself for the battle?” 1 Corinthians 14:8 In the book of Revelation we find the Apostle John on the Isle of Patmos, “on the Lord’s day.” No doubt John was worshipping the Lord when, being in the Spirit, he recounts: “…I heard behind me…
“And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered…” Joel 2:32 When the Lord Jesus walked in the cool of the day in the Garden of Eden, after the fall of man, He called unto Adam and Eve, saying, ‘Where art thou?’” (Gen. 3:9) Throughout…
“But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days; but lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me…” Daniel 10:13 To the physical ear there was no clash of swords heard, nor violent confrontations sensed, that Daniel discerned concerning the spiritual war in the heavens between Michael,…
“For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also shall the coming of the Son of Man be.” Matthew 24:27 In the book of Isaiah, there is mentioned one whom God raises up, coming from the East. The great emphasis concerning this individual is not upon him as a…
“And there I will meet with the children of Israel, and the tabernacle shall be sanctified by My glory.” Exodus 29:43 In Scripture there is great power in a picture, for by the picture that God gives of something, a structure or a situation, He reveals to man what is His purpose in seeking the…
