My wife and I served as evangelical, protestant missionaries in France for eleven and a half years, after which I became the pastor and director of a Christian school in a French-speaking evangelical church, L'Eglise Evangelique de Saint Jerome, in Quebec, Canada. After serving in Quebec for five years, we then moved to Greenville, South Carolina, where I became the pastor of the First Evangelical Church of Greenville. In 1995, we moved to Tallahassee, Florida, where I eventually assumed the management of the family business, and remained there until 2012, when our family moved to Meridian, Idaho. My wife and I have six children. These short devotionals are born out of the loss of one of these children in particular, with the hope and prayer that they will serve to encourage and inspire those who read them in their walk with Christ. God bless you all, and may we finish well the race set before us.

“…And what is the exceeding greatness of His power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of His mighty power…” Ephesians 1:19 What does Scripture mean by “…the exceeding greatness of His (God’s power revealed in Christ?” We get some idea of it first by the vastness and glory of Christ Himself, and that…
“But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days.” Daniel 12:13 Daniel was quite a man. Scripture tells us that he was “greatly beloved” by God. And yet, God would allow him as a young man to be deported to…
“Behold, I have made thy face strong against their faces, and thy forehead strong against their foreheads. As an adamant harder than flint have I made thy forehead.” Ezekiel 3:8,9 What does it take to be what God has called us to be? How could Moses, after having herded sheep for forty years, be equipped…
“And He said unto me, Son of man, stand upon thy feet, and I will speak unto thee,” “…I do send thee unto them: and thou shalt say unto them, ‘Thus saith the Lord God.’” Ezekiel 2:1,4 When Isaiah had his life-changing vision of God, as recorded in chapter six of his book, we discover…
“…the God of Daniel: for He is the living God, and stedfast for ever, and His kingdom that which shall not be destroyed, and His dominion shall be even unto the end.” Daniel 6:26 There is a theme which runs throughout the Scriptures which is essential to grasp if the believer would be stedfast in…
“And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended (overcame) it not.” John 1:5 Historians tell us that the land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthlim, by the way of the sea, was a land downtrodden by the Assyrians. Their influence, and other invaders of “the nations,” with their ruthless conquests and the…
“Serve the Lord with gladness: come before His presence with singing…” Psalm 100:2 What is the value or worth of a song, a hymn, a Psalm, especially with regard to God?
