My wife and I served as evangelical, protestant missionaries in France for eleven and a half years, after which I became the pastor and director of a Christian school in a French-speaking evangelical church, L'Eglise Evangelique de Saint Jerome, in Quebec, Canada. After serving in Quebec for five years, we then moved to Greenville, South Carolina, where I became the pastor of the First Evangelical Church of Greenville. In 1995, we moved to Tallahassee, Florida, where I eventually assumed the management of the family business, and remained there until 2012, when our family moved to Meridian, Idaho. My wife and I have six children. These short devotionals are born out of the loss of one of these children in particular, with the hope and prayer that they will serve to encourage and inspire those who read them in their walk with Christ. God bless you all, and may we finish well the race set before us.

“Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from Him cometh my salvation.  He only is my rock, and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be greatly moved.” Psalm 62:1-2 The bedrock and foundation of the whole of Christianity is Christ.  The absolute fundamental principle by which one can know the reality of Christ…

Being Led By God

“From the end of the earth will I cry unto Thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.” Psalm 61:2 It is one thing to know intellectually that God is our rock, our salvation, our shelter in the storm.  But who truly experiences it, proves it, lives…

The Eclipsing Vision Of God

“Whom have I in heaven but Thee? And there is none upon earth that I desire beside Thee.” Psalm 73:25 At the end of the day, and standing before the reality of eternity, there is but one great, all-encompassing reality. There is but one Father, eternal in the heavens sitting upon His throne, with Christ,…

Father Good Morning

“Come before His presence with singing…Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise: be thankful unto Him, and bless His name.” Psalm 100:2, 4 When Scripture speaks of seeking first the kingdom of God, it deals first and foremost with one’s approach to God, seeking Him, and that abiding communion with…

Preaching By Life And Word

“The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death, light is sprung up.” Matthew 4:16 Approaching the last days of His ministry, and thus, speaking of His second coming, we see the Lord Jesus at one point looking over Jerusalem, and lamenting: “O…
