My wife and I served as evangelical, protestant missionaries in France for eleven and a half years, after which I became the pastor and director of a Christian school in a French-speaking evangelical church, L'Eglise Evangelique de Saint Jerome, in Quebec, Canada. After serving in Quebec for five years, we then moved to Greenville, South Carolina, where I became the pastor of the First Evangelical Church of Greenville. In 1995, we moved to Tallahassee, Florida, where I eventually assumed the management of the family business, and remained there until 2012, when our family moved to Meridian, Idaho. My wife and I have six children. These short devotionals are born out of the loss of one of these children in particular, with the hope and prayer that they will serve to encourage and inspire those who read them in their walk with Christ. God bless you all, and may we finish well the race set before us.

The Cross The Point Of No Return

“But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.” Galatians 6:14 In the first letter of Paul to the Corinthians, he made this declaration:  “For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the…

Newness In The Spiritual Life

“And He that sat upon the throne said, ‘Behold, I make all things new.’ And He said unto me, ‘Write: for these words are true and faithful.’” Revelation 21:5 What is the making of something new, from God’s perspective?  First of all, it is that which is conceived in the heart and mind of God. …

Repentance Leading To Life

“As it is written in the law of Moses, all this evil is come upon us: yet made we not our prayer before the Lord our God, that we might turn from our iniquities, and understand Thy truth.” Daniel 9:13 In the second letter of Paul to Timothy, dealing with the matter of escaping the…

Great Thoughts, Great God

The Testimony And Proof Of Love

“No man can come to Me, except the Father which hath sent Me, draw him: and I will raise him up on the last day.” John 8:44 In the book of Jeremiah, there is a beautiful passage which expresses a very ancient, but enduring reality, concerning God and His dealings with us, especially concerning the…

When Evil Reaches Its Destructive Apex
